Allow Yourself the Rest You Truly Need
Allow Yourself the Rest You Truly Need
Lately, life has thrown a few curveballs my way.
As our community blossoms, I find myself reflecting on the motivations behind my writing journey. It often feels insincere to say, “I want to write for others.” The reality is more profound: I aspire to help heal your wounds through my words, as I know all too well the weight of a tired heart.
However, in the midst of these recent challenges, I’ve realized that my creative spirit has faltered. The once-flowing ink of my pen has been replaced by a struggle to express even the simplest thoughts. I apologize for not being present; I was simply navigating survival mode.
In the chaos, I’ve taken time to reconnect with my core purpose. In the pursuit of perseverance — a concept embodied by the word “padayon” — we must also acknowledge its counterpart: “pahuway,” a reminder that rest is not just a luxury, but a necessity.
Continuing on, despite the heaviness we carry, can feel insurmountable. With shattered hearts and the myriad of life’s trials weighing us down, we often feel compelled to keep moving forward. Yet, even the sky weeps when the burdens become too great. Remember, resting does not signify defeat; it is a powerful act of self-compassion — a moment to inhale, gather your courage, and be gentle with yourself.
Rest is, in essence, living.
When fatigue sets in, allow yourself a reprieve — not merely because you’re at your limit, but because you deserve that space. Picture yourself as a perfectly brewed cup of coffee, each morning offering a blend of rich, robust flavors. Balance the bitterness with just the right touch of sweetness, and savor those moments of imperfection, holding onto the hope for brighter days ahead.
May your coffee remain warm, and may you heed the gentle murmurs of your heart amidst the noise of bravado.
So, shall we take a moment to pause together?
