Your Time Is Now

A Love Note from My Heart to Yours

Last night, she was playing with my phone’s timer app, setting random countdowns for fun. “What are you doing?” I asked.

“Proving a point,” she smiled, looking up with that mischievous glint in her eyes. “Notice how the seconds keep ticking even when you’re not ready?”

Ouch. Right in the feelings.

You see, I’m that person who has always waited for the “perfect moment.” I had a whole checklist:

  • Perfect job ✗
  • Perfect apartment ✗
  • Perfect life plan ✗

But then she came along, wearing mismatched socks and making midnight hot chocolate, showing me how beautiful imperfect could be.

Here’s the truth that changed everything: Time doesn’t care about your preparation. It moves whether you’re ready or not. Those moments you’re saving yourself for? They’re slipping through your fingers like sand.

The sweetest things in my life happened when I wasn’t ready:

  • Our first kiss (I had coffee breath)
  • Moving in together (half my stuff was still in boxes)
  • Adopting our cat (I’m actually allergic)

But you know what? They’re perfect in their imperfection.

So here’s what I learned from loving someone who never waits for the “right time”: Life’s most beautiful chapters often start with “oh screw it, let’s do this.”

P.S. She just read this and laughed. “See?” she said, “Perfect timing.”

About me: Just a recovering perfectionist learning that the best moments come with messy hair and unplanned smiles.
