Yesterday Was Mens Day And Nobody Cared

Men’s Day. Did you even know it was yesterday?

I woke up yesterday to an ordinary morning. No texts, no notifications. Scrolled through my feed — nothing but the usual noise: memes, reels, and a thousand posts about everything under the sun. But not a single mention of Men’s Day.

Men’s Day. Did you even know it was yesterday?

I didn’t until I stumbled upon a tiny post buried in the chaos, almost like it was trying not to be seen. And that’s when it hit me — nobody cares.

There was no buzz, no hashtags trending, no corporate campaigns shouting, “Celebrate the men in your life!” The world just moved on, like it always does.

Not that I was expecting balloons or fanfare. But you know what would’ve been nice? A simple acknowledgment. A text from a friend. A “Happy Men’s Day” from someone who remembered.

But the silence? That stung.

Why Don’t We Talk About It?

Let’s be honest — men aren’t great at asking for attention. We’re conditioned to shrug off compliments, downplay our struggles, and keep moving forward like it’s no big deal. But deep down, it is a big deal.

Men’s Day isn’t about praising men for being men. It’s about saying, “Hey, we see you. We appreciate you.” But instead, it’s like we’re invisible.

Let Me Clear One Thing It’s Not About Women vs. Men

Before anyone jumps in with, “Well, women face this, and women face that,” — let me stop you right there.

This isn’t a competition. This isn’t about who has it harder. Women’s Day is important. Women deserve every bit of recognition they get and more.

But can’t we also take one day — just one — to appreciate the men who quietly shoulder their responsibilities, who fight battles they rarely talk about, who break their backs trying to be the “strong” ones?

Let’s talk about the men who’ve cried in silence because they were told showing emotion is weak.
The men who work long hours to support their families and still feel like they’re not doing enough.
The men who’ve been there for everyone but themselves.

We carry so much. And yet, we’re expected to carry it with a smile, without ever asking for help, because, “That’s just what men do.”

Yesterday wasn’t just about the lack of wishes or recognition. It was a reminder of how little space men are given to be vulnerable, to be seen, to feel valued.

It’s not about the day itself. It’s about what the silence represents.

Men’s Day felt like a whisper in a crowded room — a faint acknowledgment drowned out by everything else.

To the Men Reading This

If no one wished you yesterday, I’m wishing you now.
If you felt unseen, I see you.
If you felt unimportant, know that you matter.

You are more than the weight you carry, more than the expectations placed on you. You are enough.

Take a moment to recognize the men in your life. Not just on Men’s Day, but every day. Tell them you appreciate them, not for their strength or their achievements, but simply for who they are.

Because sometimes, all it takes is a simple “thank you” to remind someone they’re not invisible.

Yesterday was Men’s Day. And no, nobody cared. But today, let’s change that. Because men deserve to be celebrated too.
